Welcome to the AI Challenge 2025 in the Stuttgart Region!
With the AI Challenge, the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance is bringing together municipalities, companies and AI solution providers in six regions to jointly develop forward-looking solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI). In the Stuttgart region, the focus is on the topic of "Green AI - living with climate change".
The AI Challenge is a practice-oriented program that aims to systematically and sustainably integrate AI methods into the product and service development of businesses and public administrations. The aim is to jointly develop AI solutions on various focus topics that strengthen the region and make sustainable success measurable.
In an interactive workshop, we work on solutions for specific challenges (use cases). To this end, we bring together AI experts, solution seekers, data providers and AI solution providers in our workshop with four focus topics. Together, we develop tailor-made approaches based on state-of-the-art AI methods and the proven PAISE® process model - and report on them.
With the AI Challenge, we are also promoting the development of a lively AI community in our region and creating space for networking and innovation. Join us and take part in the kick-off event of the AI Challenge in the Stuttgart region!

What is the AI Challenge?
The AI Challenge aims to systematically and sustainably introduce AI methods into the product and service development of businesses and public authorities and to support the development of a vibrant AI community in the regions. In a workshop day led by our experts, we want to work on specific use cases on site and report on them afterwards. The workshop will be preceded by a kick-off event. The AI Challenge is a sub-project of the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance, which is intended to serve as an innovation network for AI and already links six regions in Baden-Württemberg. Each region will offer an AI Challenge on a focus topic in 2025. The sub-project is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism. What is the topic of the AI Challenge 2025 in the Stuttgart Region?
The AI Challenge 2025 in the Stuttgart region is dedicated to the topic of "Green AI - Living in a changing climate". The focus is on the question of how AI can help to implement climate protection measures in a more targeted manner, evaluate their effectiveness and support cities, municipalities and companies in achieving their sustainability goals.
- How can we better predict and evaluate the effectiveness of climate protection and adaptation measures with the help of AI?
- How can AI be used to help cities, municipalities and companies achieve their sustainability goals?
- How can we use AI methods to measure the success of measures for "living in climate change" (e.g. setting up "cool places" during hot spells) more precisely and control them in a targeted manner?
- How can we use AI to increase resilience to extraordinary events (including extreme weather or natural disasters)?

Who is the AI Challenge suitable for?
The AI Challenge is aimed at public administration, companies and AI solution providers who want to use AI specifically for climate adaptation and sustainability measures.

Municipalities, public administrations and special-purpose associations & companies with a focus on sustainability: Sustainability goals and measures are part of your strategy? Is your municipality or company facing a complex challenge in the context of Green AI? Use the free AI Challenge to harness your existing data with the help of AI solutions to simplify decision-making processes and measure success. Our AI experts will guide you! No AI knowledge is required.
Providers of AI solutions and technology developers: Are you a provider and/or developer of AI solutions and would you like to work with the project team to take municipalities and companies in Baden-Württemberg to the next level? Become part of our network!

You can take part in this workshop in the Stuttgart region and actively contribute your questions and solutions on Green AI. This will create a regional network that can deal efficiently with climate measures!
The aim of the workshop is to find solutions for the respective topics. Project roadmaps are to be developed from the solution approaches, which can then be implemented independently.
With this call, we are particularly looking for small and medium-sized companies, cities/municipalities/public administration and/or special-purpose associations from the Stuttgart region.
Participation is free of charge and only requires the willingness to make the collaboration public in a profile on our website. Knowledge of artificial intelligence is not required on the user side. The content discussed in the workshop can be protected by a confidentiality agreement if required.
