Karlsruhe: AI challenge for the construction industry

New momentum for the construction industry – with AI

The AI Challenge returns to Karlsruhe at Fraunhofer IOSB on December 8

KARLSRUHE. Following the successful AI challenge in May of this year on the topic of "sustainable events" in Ettlingen, the Karlsruhe region is now turning its attention to the construction industry. Here, too, it is important to develop and implement future-proof solutions in good time. Relief and efficiency are urgently needed, especially in areas with high physical strain or risk of injury – both of which artificial intelligence can provide. However, in order for the solutions to be practical, direct exchange with future users is necessary. This is exactly where the AI Challenge comes in.

Experts from the construction industry and AI experts at Fraunhofer IOSB

On December 8, the construction industry will meet with research institutions and providers of AI solutions at Fraunhofer IOSB in Karlsruhe.
Together with the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg, Fraunhofer IOSB, Wirtschaftsförderung Karlsruhe, and TALKCONCRETE, a day full of inspiration, workshops, and networking opportunities will be created for companies, start-ups, associations, and research institutions that want to make concrete use of the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in the construction industry.

The AI Challenge is about using the proven AI engineering method to identify existing needs for AI applications in the construction industry and tap into potential for new business models.
Whatever challenges you face in the construction industry, the AI Challenge Construction Industry will provide you with inspiration, methods, and the right partners for the next step in your use case.

Program featuring high-profile representatives from the construction industry

The AI Challenge will feature keynote speeches and a panel discussion with high-profile representatives from the construction industry. This will give AI experts an up-to-date insight into the industry.

Workshops in 4 thematic strands in the afternoon

In interactive sessions and practical thematic strands, initial solutions to the participants' individual challenges will be developed. The aim is to initiate concrete project ideas that can be continued beyond the event and that will strengthen the future viability of the industry in the long term.

Participants can choose from the following topics:
• Circular economy in the construction industry
• Craftsmanship and execution
• Construction industry and construction process
• Serial and modular construction

outlook

The results of the AI Challenge will be published on the website of the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg. Anyone interested in project approaches can contact Community Management and thus also participate in the development of solutions.
