Opening of the cooperative

AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg opens cooperative to new members: Focus on needs in the state

Stuttgart, December 3, 2025 – The AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg has opened its cooperative and now allows companies, municipalities, and research institutions to join the state-wide structure directly. The initiative is responding to the growing demand for guidance, quality, and reliable partner networks in the AI market.

Opening in response to rising demand in the country

In recent years, there has been a sharp increase in demand for a neutral, structured point of contact for AI. Companies are looking for guidance, local authorities need sound assessments of which AI solutions are suitable for their tasks, and research institutions are looking for ways to put their innovations into practice. "We are opening the cooperative because AI should not emerge by chance in the state," says Sandra Rohner, managing director of the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg. "We are creating a structure in which needs are professionally recorded, jointly evaluated, and translated into effective solutions."

Structured framework for cooperation and quality

By opening up the cooperative, the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg is establishing a framework in which needs are systematically identified, linked together, and solutions developed. The initiative is thus strengthening its role as an active mediator between business, local authorities, and science. CEO David Hermanns emphasizes: "We see membership as an invitation to actively shape the future of AI in the state. This requires a structure that brings together perspectives and expertise and enables well-founded decisions."

First new members already part of the structure

Since its launch, the AI Alliance has received a lot of feedback and inquiries. Four new members have already been accepted, and further discussions are taking place. "We sense that there is a genuine willingness in the state to use AI – but only if the foundation, i.e., a viable infrastructure, is in place," says Michael Kaiser, CEO of the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg. "Organizations are looking for guidance and quality. That is exactly what we stand for as a cooperative that bundles existing AI expertise and creates synergies . "

Contribution to strengthening and implementing the state AI strategy

Membership provides a binding framework in which needs are specifically formulated and further developed across sectors. The AI Alliance's projects demonstrate how local authorities, businesses, and academia can benefit from each other and achieve impact together.

The cooperative complements the state's strong players – such as Cyber Valley in Stuttgart and the IPAI (Innovation Park of Artificial Intelligence) in Heilbronn – with a structure that systematically integrates the user perspective and accelerates the transfer of research into practice across the board.

"We bring people with ideas, data, and technologies together in a targeted manner. This creates the synergies that are necessary for AI to unfold its full potential in business, administration, and society," says Managing Director Rohner. "Our goal is to reliably navigate the complex AI market in the state."

For the AI Alliance Baden-Württemberg, the opening marks the beginning of a new form of cooperation that highlights the needs in the state and connects them in a targeted manner. Interested organizations can now find out more about membership on the AI Alliance website.
