Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance presents practical AI solutions at Hannover Messe 2025

Application-oriented AI solutions for companies, science, politics and public institutions will be presented over five days

Stuttgart, March 20, 2025 - The Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance will be represented at the Hannover Messe 2025 from Monday, March 31, to Friday, April 4, as part of the Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i) joint stand. Together with partners from industry and science, such as Aalen University, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Fraunhofer IAO and IOSB, the AI Alliance will be showcasing practical approaches for the use of artificial intelligence.

Premiere for AI matchmaking platform

The prototype of the AI matchmaking platform "ask-bw.io", presented for the first time at the trade fair, enables companies and public institutions to access suitable AI solutions directly - quickly, practically and without time-consuming research. Visitors can experience the platform live and test it directly. ask-bw.io was developed to answer key practical questions: Which AI providers, networks and funding opportunities are there? How can companies find the right AI application for their individual requirements? The platform enables a contextual search and intelligent networking in order to identify and use the right AI solutions.

Strong partners from Baden-Württemberg for AI infrastructure

The AI data platform will also be presented at the trade fair. This is one of eight pioneering projects under the umbrella of the AI Alliance and offers companies and public institutions centralized access to quality-assured training data and suitable AI solutions. Developed under the leadership of Fraunhofer IOSB and in collaboration with nine strong partners from science, business and administration, it ensures the practical use of AI technologies.
The AI data platform enables companies to efficiently create, manage and share data and AI models. "The AI market is confusing for many companies. With the AI data platform, we enable targeted access to the required quality-assured training data and to AI solutions that bring real economic benefits for your own AI application," emphasizes Dr. Thomas Usländer, Fraunhofer IOSB.

It shows how the platform serves as a standard interface for practical, proven and scalable AI assets. Through the use of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), a process for improving prompts, it is integrated into a comprehensive knowledge platform and is already contributing to the digital transformation as a central pillar of the AI ecosystem in Baden-Württemberg.

Hanover as a stage for innovations "made in THE LÄND"

Almost 200 companies from Baden-Württemberg will be exhibiting at the world's largest industrial trade fair. Over 70 of them will present their solutions at both THE-LÄND pavilions under this year's motto "Matching Minds". The AI Alliance is part of a strong partner network that covers the entire AI value chain - from research and development to economic application and political framework conditions. "Baden-Württemberg has a unique network of science, companies and political players that not only develops AI, but also puts it into practice in a targeted manner," emphasizes Michael Kaiser, CEO of the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance and Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH.

AI alliance focuses on networking and practical relevance

Sandra Rohner, Managing Director of the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance, emphasizes the strategic importance of AI for Baden-Württemberg: "In order to remain competitive in the long term, we must not only equip companies with technologies, but also connect them with the right partners and the necessary expertise. AI is not an end in itself - it must offer clear added value and be economically viable for companies."

Hannover Messe 2025 offers the ideal setting to bring companies, science and politics together. Visitors to the BW_i joint stand will gain exclusive insights into the practical implementation of AI, can exchange ideas with experts and make valuable strategic contacts.
