Successful completion of Make Ostwürttemberg 2024
Innovation under the sign of digitalization
Schwäbisch Gmünd, October 01, 2024 - On September 28 and 29, 2024, the KI-Allianz Baden-Württemberg was a guest at Make Ostwürttemberg in Schwäbisch Gmünd. A trade fair dedicated to digitalization and future trends once again proved that it is a central meeting place for innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups and scientists in the region. With around 10,000 expected visitors and over 8,000 m² of exhibition space at the Robert Bosch plant in Schwäbisch Gmünd, the trade fair impressively demonstrated the region's innovative strength.
"Future.digitization.trends."
Under this year's motto "Future. Digitization. Trends." the event offered a wide range of insights into the latest developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics and digital transformation. Numerous companies, including regional start-ups and established firms, presented their latest products and services. Visitors had the opportunity to find out about current trends and get in touch with the companies directly. Live demonstrations, workshops and hands-on stations enabled
participants to experience innovation at first hand and establish valuable networks.
Artificial intelligence live and in color
One highlight of the trade fair was the stand of the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance, which presented an interactive exhibit entitled "Understanding AI: Pattern Recognition and Decision Making". The model visualized how artificial intelligence works by categorizing various objects such as pens, crayons, cubes, cars and horses. Visitors were able to experience live how the AI system recognized learned patterns and marked the relevant parts of the image for decision-making. Hands-on AI, so to speak.
A showcase for the region's innovative strength
"With our interactive model, we want to make artificial intelligence more tangible and understandable for people. It's not just about presenting the technology, but also about showing how AI works and the crucial role that pattern recognition plays in modern systems," says Tobias Kenner from the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance. "Make is a showcase that demonstrates how bright minds in the region are shaping the future. We have the right framework conditions," says Peter Polta, District Administrator of the Heidenheim district. Dr. Joachim Bläse, District Administrator of the Ostalbkreis district, also underlined the importance of the event: "Versatile-Swabian-patent is the motto of the Ostalbkreis district, and Make Ostwürttemberg is an outstanding example of how versatility and innovative spirit are lived in our region."
