AI Up Close: AI Alliance at the 2026 Hannover Messe

What should you do if you sense the potential of AI but don’t know where to start? That’s exactly where we come in—and at the Hannover Messe, we’ll show you what the journey from idea to implementation looks like.

A glimpse into the future. Hanover, late April 2026. Amid exhibition halls, demos, and business meetings, hundreds of companies and local governments are all seeking the same thing: guidance. After all, the AI landscape is evolving faster than most decision-makers can keep up with. Which solution is right for us? Who can we trust? Where do we start? We have answers to exactly these questions—and we’ll be bringing them directly to Hall 14, Booth J140, from April 20 to 24, 2026.

Matching Instead of Marketing

What sets us apart from traditional trade shows: We don’t sell. We provide support. As a cooperatively organized, vendor-independent platform, we see ourselves as neutral intermediaries—connecting the specific needs of business and government on one side with the relevant expertise from academia and the professional world on the other.

Our trade show presence will focus on training programs, software solutions, and a demo of our planned AI matchmaking platform, ask-bw.io. Through live sessions and structured discussions, we’ll demonstrate how initial ideas can be turned into concrete AI applications—for businesses as well as local governments.

This is complemented by insights into the AI data platform, whose modules we have released as open source. It serves as a central foundation for data sovereignty and the data economy—particularly for SMEs and local governments that wish to use AI independently and sustainably.

Baden-Württemberg shows its colors

We are not alone on the exhibition floor: As part of the THE-LÄND Pavilion in Hall 14, we are joining forces with strong partners who will be present at the booth—including CyberForum e.V., Fraunhofer IOSB, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Through joint live sessions and discussions, it will become clear how Baden-Württemberg’s AI ecosystem works together and that the Southwest not only conducts research but also puts it into practice.

The theme of the 2026 Hannover Messe— “Connected in Purpose. United in Progress” —couldn’t be more fitting.

Ms. Rohner, the Hannover Messe is one of the world’s largest industrial trade fairs. Why is the AI Alliance attending the event?

“We go where the decision-makers are. Many companies and local governments know they need to do something with AI—but they don’t know how or with whom. That’s exactly what we’re inviting you to do: Come by and let’s talk. No sales pressure, no buzzwords.”

What sets our approach apart from what other exhibitors are showcasing at the trade show?

“We are neither a consulting firm nor a service provider. We are a cooperative. That means we are owned by our members and act in their best interests. At the trade show, we bring together stakeholders who might otherwise never find themselves in the same room: a medium-sized company from the Black Forest, a research institute from Karlsruhe, and a municipality looking to modernize its administration. If such a conversation leads to a project, we’ve done our job.”

What do you hope visitors will do at your booth?

“Curiosity! Just stop by, even if you don’t have any specific questions yet. Sometimes it takes a conversation to figure out what you actually need. And: We also welcome people who bring their own expertise and want to become part of our network. The AI Alliance thrives on the participation of many.”

Looking Back: AI Alliance at the 2025 Hannover Messe

We were also present at the Hannover Messe last year, where we not only had many engaging conversations but were also able to demonstrate live on-site, using our AI demonstrator, just what is already possible with the help of our AI data platform.
